RossM 8,149
took my dogs out for a run around in the snow and just got back to find my older bitch has split the big pad on her front right paw, its not too bad on the actual pressure part of the pad but gets deep as it goes up if that makes sense? ive cleaned it with salt water and put antisceptic cream on it, also put a sock over the leg, now am i right in thinking theres not a lot vets can do for pad wounds? what can i do myself to allow it to heal fine? cheers in advance
longdog13 36
there's nowt a vet will do other then have a prod round and charge you for the pleasure. Just rest the og and lead walks only until it's closed up. Try and let the air get to it or it may well go mankey. Thats the technical term for it anyway. ATB and hope it heals quickly for you. mad al 146
If you have a local agri/farm supplies, see if they sell THIS Usually does the job, just hope you don't mind the smell and remember if your mutt comes indoors that you've put a kind of "tar" on the cut
